Biography
Mission Statement
I grew up as a Brethren in Christ missionary kid among the Navajo people of New Mexico. My first job was teaching in a Mennonite high school in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. Singing in Navajo and in Kipende, and studying French throughout my educational journey, have led to a life-long fascination with languages, and how they are used to transmit the accounts of divine-human interactions in the Bible. Today I teach biblical studies, continue to translate New Testament and other early Christian texts, participate in theological and Christian spiritual formation of today’s church leaders, and pray for Anabaptist-related and other witnesses to the Gospel around the world. I enjoy visiting with my grandchildren, singing, listening to birds, and walking.
