Kristen obtained both her BSN and MSN through EMU and credits her experience in these programs leading to her desire to be an adjunct professor. Kristen has spent the majority of her career in the field of Long term care/geriatrics. She was a Director of Nursing for 10 years and now a Nursing Home Administrator. Kristen is passionate about the need for excellence in the care of elderly adults. Additionally, she believes that management in nursing can be a fulfilling and challenging career choice. One of Kristen's primary goals in teaching at EMU is to help nurse develop an understanding of the management side of nursing and to help "debunk" some of the negativity nurses have toward management. She also loves to share and teach using her practical knowledge and experiences.
Kristen is married and has 3 adult children. She enjoys reading, camping, and spending time with family and friends. She also belongs to the Lititz Lions club and regularly volunteers in her community.
