Stephanie Jensen

Stephanie was born and raised in Minnesota and studied Psychology and English at The University of Wisconsin-Lacrosse. During her summers in college, she worked as a nanny in Northern Virginia where she ended up permanently moving to upon her graduation in 1999. After a brief stint working as a Crisis Counselor for a non-profit agency in Washington DC, she changed gears and decided to pursue sales and marketing in the medical field which is where she began her career in physician and healthcare recruitment. 

After several years of working in healthcare recruiting, management, and business development, Stephanie and her family settled to the Harrisonburg area where she then dedicated her time to raising her three amazing kids and working part time as a yoga and fitness instructor. After a few years of teaching, she decided to open her own wellness studio which brought Yoga, Pilates, dance, massage therapy, teacher trainings, community events, and wellness workshops to the Harrisonburg community. After 7 successful years as an entrepreneur and small business owner, she had to close due to Covid in 2020. 

In 2021, Stephanie decided to return to the healthcare recruiting industry and while she did enjoy some aspects of working from home, she missed the feeling of being part of team and working with people in the community.  In February of 2023, she joined EMU's Graduate Admissions Team and is thrilled to be working in such a warm and collaborative environment.  Due to her strong backround in healthcare recruitment, she will be working with prospective students in the Biomedical and Nursing Graduate Programs.
